Measure out 3/4 cups of warm water. I usually throw normal tap water into the microwave for 20 seconds. Check the temperature. Should feel hot-tub temperature.
Measure out yeast and sugar into a medium bowl. Add the warm water and wait to confirm the yeast is active (ie it starts to foam).
Mix in half the flour and blend with a wodden spoon.
Add the 2nd half of the flour, the garlic powder, dried herbs and salt. Mix with the wooden spoon until blended. If needed, slightly flour one hand and kneed until the dough is fully come together.
Oil a clean bowl and move the smooth dough ball into the bowl, turning it to completely cover in oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes. It should roughly double in size.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. If you have a pizza stone, that is ideal, but not neccesary.
Turn out the raised dough onto a pizza pan or parchment lineds sheet tray. Knock the air out of the down and using your fingers or a rolling pin, spread out to about a 14 inch cicle.
Using a fork, poke the dough all over to help minimize air bubbles.
Place the pizza in the oven and prebake for 5-6 minutes. Remove from the oven, add on your sauce, cheese(s), toppings, then return to the oven for 12-15 minutes.
Let rest for about five minues. Then slice and enjoy.
Notes
In the pizza image at top, I used a simple red sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, red bell peppers, garlic slices, with parmesan and goat cheese.
